What to use to clean my boat

Featured Replies

I have a fiberglass boat and I live on a dirt road.  I would like to know how and what to use to clean my boat.  Should I take it to a power washer or just use my hose and dish soap.  Also can you tell me what kind of wax I should use and how to clean my prop.

Thanks,

Jenga

I use regular car wash soap to wash the boat, and use BTS to protect it - you can use it on fiberglass, plexiglass, vinyl, etc.  It's a high tech formula that stops fading, discoloration and mold/mildew staining. Makes the boat look brand new!

BTS now has a boat wash too.  I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I bet it's one heck of a product.

BTS is the best thing I have used on my boat, PERIOD.

I have not used BBS yet but I hear similar results.

You can use regular car wash soap to wash it down.  Do not use dish soap.  Dish soap will strip off all the old wax and leave an un-protected finish.  Put a good coat of wax on their and use a good spray quick detailer type product everytime you get off the water to wipe it down.

BTS is the best product I have found for bassboats, no close second.............Al

I wash with Turtle Wax car wash and then protect it with Bass Boat Saver. I bought some BTS a couple weeks ago and was not at all impressed. IMO, BBS is WAY better for the whole boat except sonar screens.

I use Pro-Tec products and they do an amazing job. They have a product called Wash 'n Gloss for washing the boat. After washing use the Sealant Polish to seal up all the pores and add a nice shine to the gel coat. These 2 also do a good job of keeping dirt/dust from sticking to the boat. In between washes, BBS is the best I've found for keeping the water/scum line off the boat.

You know, i think i will have to swallow my words this time. The first couple applications i could tell no difference in anything i applied it to(no shine or anything). But i decided i may as well use the whole bottle since it was bought. I washed the boat again and applied three more coats and now i can see it. You can actually see where the BTS has been applied and where it has not. Very shiny and "slick" look and feel now. Some say it doesn't make dash and vinyl shine but it made my black dash parts shine up nice. So i do apologize for my original review of BTS. No need for a refund, all is well!
