What would a medium power fast action rod (SLX) rod be good for?  Would it go well with an slx MGL?  Any thoughts on the slx MGL?

    The MGL should perform well for the lure rating of that rod (1/4-1/2oz). 

     

    My first thought would be jerkbaits, squarebills, top water and lighter spinner baits.  They are listed as Extra Fast, so I would also opt for a line that's got some stretch.  Just my thoughts...

    I think rtwvumtneer6 pretty much nailed it spot on.  A good 10-12# test mono (Sunline Armillo or similar) would work very nicely with that set up.
