First fish.

Featured Replies

After my topic of "Last fish" we arrived in Central FL and, after getting settled and a few cold windy days I made it to the river.  The 8.25 lbs wasn't the bass.  Since then I've gone everyday, to a lake or the river, but haven't caught a fish over 3 lbs but I'm fixing to.

That's a nice bowfin. They put up such a good fight, but always heartbreaking to think you have a giant bass on only to pull up a mudfish.

8lb is the minimum for Florida's Big Catch program, if you're interested in submitting the bowfin.

My first fishing adventure to Florida and I had a mayan cichlid eat a trap and about rip the rod out of my hand.  Never expected it to be an 11" bluegill on steroids.  Fun, and a pretty fish, but deceiving.
