Abu Garcia Zenon Spinning Rods??

Featured Replies

I'm interested in the the Zenon 7ft M spinning, unfortunately there is nowhere near me that has the rod for me to handle and inspect.  The 2022 fishing show an hour away from me, which had an Abu booth has been cancelled again, I rather not drop $400+ on a rod I never held. Does anyone have any experience with the  Zenon spinning rods? Any info/feedback is appreciated.

It’s probably a fantastic rod. But I couldn’t drop that kinda coin and not know what it feels like first.

I’ve had Cabelas, BPS and local tackle shop order me in a few rods and walked out with what was the feel I was looking for.

That said they were not $400 rods. Stick to your plan and try to touch one first.

I’ve held one, and don’t think it’s worth $400. There are a number of sticks around that price I’d go with.

What are the top three techniques you’re looking to use with it?

Primarly for neko rigs and shaky heads, I'm looking for a super sensitive spinning rod, I have a zodias 7ft ML that has very good sensitivity,  but I would be open to purchasing something with outstanding sensitivity. I had a Poison Adrena 7ft M spinning and was not impressed with its sensitivity or how tip heavy/unbalanced it was, I have the Adrena casting rods and those are super light and ultra sensitive,  idk what shimano missed in the 7ft M spinning version, I may pre order the new expride and see what happens.

They are parked on a ship from China in LA harbor.

If you’re at the $400 dollar mark I’d strongly look at the St. croix legend x 6’10” MLXF. It’s rated 1/8 to 1/2 and it’s a true extra fast tip. I use mine for wacky rigs, neko, neds, and shakey heads.

Super smooth and sensitive, feather light, and packed with high end components. If you look around right now a site I know has 15% off everything including croix

I use a new steez 7’1” ML for drop shots and super light work. It’s a more natural parabolic action with just enough backbone.

If I can get my hands on a Legend X ,I'll take a look. I saw that new 7'1 ML Steez, it definitely caught my eye, I may go that way, I have never been disappointed with Daiwa.
