Featured Replies

My buddy is headed to the Fl Keys in a week and wanting to catch these. He doesn't know where or how.

Any tips on this?

Look up a charter boat targeting Blackfin tuna. Tuna are pelagic fish targeting schools of baitfish. Blackfin are small size tuna between 10 to 30 lbs, so light off shore 20 lb tackle is good.

The 2 common fishing techniques are trolling tuna feathers and chumming with live bait when a trolled tuna is hooked.

The Marathon hump is famous tuna grounds in the Keys.

My suggestion is ask the charter captain what you need, most boats have everything for their clients.

Speed trolling Yo-Zuri jerk baits over the Marathon humps with spinning tackle produced for us years ago.
