Berkley Powerbait Gilly

Featured Replies

Ohhhhhh I am liking this thing.

I think Ike and the folks at Berkley might be on to something with this one

The 130mm is the ideal bluegill size for my preferences

initial impressions are, quality plastic, innovative design that should produce good slow-speed action.  Fairly heavy for size, so expect good weightless presentation and castability.

Excellent price point for what it is

looking forward to getting this in the water for testing.

Will add more once I get in the water

Tuned into this one. Sounds promising...

I just ordered a couple colours in the 90 size. They look like they have a pretty darn good swimming action, and I’m gonna give them a good try on a few of the smaller lakes around here where sunfish and perch are a big food base.

I picked up a bunch of these in all three sizes, mostly in the Bluegill and Pumpkinseed pattern.  My lakes are just now thawing enough to get out and cast, so I took a few out to test them out.  Used a homemade nail weight buried in the snout and a weightless EWG.  They look incredible in the water - action is a dead ringer for the real thing, regardless of retrieval method.

That being said, I haven't hooked anything with it yet and even though they weren't available until late last year, it's really odd to me that there's so little online about the this bait's real-world effectiveness.  The only person I've seen catch bass on the Gilly is, conveniently, Ike.

Looking forward to seeing how everyone here fares with them this year.

Check out Edwin Evers youtube channel. He posted a video while he was using them a little while ago.

Bluegill will be locked onto their beds by the middle of June around here. I'll get this bait in between them and the bass and I have no doubt they'll get clobbered, especially in low light.

Ive been trying to find these and everywhere I look is on back order. I want a pack of the bluegill color so bad I cant stand it. I have a BPS gift card but they don't sell the HD colors!!
