Took my 89 tournament tx out the first time and it died!

Featured Replies

I got about 200 yard's from the landing and it died >;) It wasn't sucking fuel! I put a "atwood" plastic tank in it the kind you buy at "china-mart" Well to make a long story short, I got the rig home and put my omc one in and it work's fine :( Whats up?? ::)I think i'll just look for another omc tank and use the china-mart one to put used oil in> Junebugman

I assume you are talking about a portable gas tank. I would pull out the fuel gauge/ fuel pick up unit from the tank  and check to see if the fuel pick up line fell off. The clamp may have loosened and the line fell off.

Definately sounds like the vent. The Walmart OMC tanks work fine (although a little pricey for being Walmart), but the vent was one of my biggest mistakes. For the longest time I thought that it had to be air tight and could not figure out why the engine wouldn't stay running.
