For decades bass anglers used 2 knots for mono line; improved clinch knot followed by the Trilene knot, both very similar. The Palomar knot came into popularity around 1980 and remains popular today. Mono is forgiving line regarding knot strength, Fluorocarbon line isn’t.

How many knots have been introduced to improve FC knot strength? Dozens and some knots re named. The Shaw Grigsby knot is the very old braid knot I learned to tie in the 50’s. The Pitzen is the San Diego Jam knot. 

FC has lower knot strength then equal diameter mono, no knot can resolved this physical fact.

My suggestion is learn a knot you can tie perfectly every time under Fishing conditions. If you doubt the knot you tie don’t use it.

I like the SD Jam knot for lures, easy to tie using the lure weight. I use the Palomar knot for hooks and clips being careful not to turn the loop creating a twist on the double line.

Using FC you will experience line failures, everyone does.

The knot that Shaw Grigsby shows is just a Double Pitzen. You don't need as many wraps using double line and that is the knot I use for any single hook presentation.
