water dripping from under dash.

Featured Replies

I put my boat in for the first time to break in the engine.  I just got a new power head assembly.  when I was driving it water would drip out on my leg just underneath the steering wheel but stop when the motor was turned off.  Can anyone tell me what that could be.

Thanks,

Jenga

There is a small diameter tubing that goes to your water pressure guage that has backed off its hose barb.

This happens when the remaining water from the end of the season freezes and expands. You can simply press it back on tight and stop the leak but the guage is probably toast.

If it doing it just when the motors running, probably water pressure guage hose.  If doing it only when boat is moving, probably the speedo hose.

I read this post and when I got my boat out for the first time this year it did the same thing.  I knew what it was.  I put a bucket under the drip for a few outings, but just finished replacing the water pressure gauge so I can get rid of the bucket.

my boat is older but i had the same problem. It was my speedo.  Check all you guage connections.  It has to be coming from a guage. Check the connections begore buying a new guage.

it was definitely my water pressure gauge, and it was also toast.
