Shimano Expride 6’8MH question

Featured Replies

So I’ve been wanting a higher  end jig rod for some time now, coming from a Dobyns Sierra 734. I use mostly 3/8 jigs some 1/2, and mostly for casting/skipping docks, lay downs, etc. I’ve been wanting a 7’2 MH expride for a while but it’s always backordered, we’ll today I go into my tackle shop and they have an old 6’8 MH. I’m just worried about the length since I’m used to rods over 7 foot. Any experience with this rod, fishing from kayak as well

I think if you're already used to using a 7 foot+ rod for skipping, a 6'8" is going to seem small pretty quick. Even from a kayak (I have one too) provided you're comfortable standing up when needed. Sucks with backorders, but if you really want the 7'2" Expride you might be happier long term just waiting it out - like many of us are doing on it seems for at least one rod at any given time!
