Has anyone fished Fox Grove in Modesto? Have you caught anything and if so, with what? 

Haven't been out to fox grove in years last time it was nasty between all the stray cats and their mess and the homeless and tweakers hanging around no way I would put a boat in there. Come back to a stripped truck.

It’s been a few years since I’ve fished it.  I’ve caught bass.  Best spot for me was walking as far as I could upstream of the parking lot.  I also caught a few around the launch ramp.  Caught them on swim jigs, senkos, or drop shots.  I’d avoid it in the summer as the water gets pretty nasty with algae and weeds.  

When we were kids we would launch our float tubes there and float down to Sante Fe bridge.... could catch literally 50-60 small bass in the summer.... never much bigger then 12-13" but we would use trout rods with 6-8lb mono and throw 4" Texas rig worms and tiny baby brush hawgs with an 1/8 or 1/16oz weight.... just flip it into every down tree and whatever else looks fishy.... it was a ton of fun.... used to do it every weekend with my buddies.... depending on how much water they are dumping out of Pedro it could be a 4 hour trip or an 8 hour trip. Good times..... as far as bank fishing at fox grove itself.... never interested me....too many vagrants and troublemakers..... like someone else said prepare to get your truck broke into.... we had it happen once....after that we always had someone drop us off and pick us up.
