I won a $250 gift certificate from Moosejaw for my review of Astral Hiyak shoes.

Turned it into a free ThermaRest Tent-Cot

If you want to experience JDM style rods now would be an opportune time to get your feet wet. The exchange rate between the USD and Yen is favorable to get great deals on picking up equipment overseas.

My opinion is that the JDM rods are superior over most of American manufactured rods/reels. Especially in the Light/Ultra light categories.

Their superior quality is driven by a population of SERIOUS fishermen who are willing to pay top $ for the most innovative/sensitive gear.

JDM stuff just has more stylized appearance.  Both of these rods use the same blanks but the conquest is built to appeal to US anglers and has a more traditional appearance.
