Tips for MCAS Fishing Pond

Featured Replies

A retired military buddy is taking my son and I to the MCAS fishing pond in Miramar and just curious if any of you have fished there and can offer any tips.  Appears there are 3-4 docks to fish off of.  I plan to mainly throw senkos, ikas, and bring a drop shot as well if things are tough.

thanks in advance

Looks pretty small.   Should be able to cast to any part of the pond.  Good luck.  My only advice is if it is great.....keep it on the down low....  lol....lots of really good base ponds all over the country....but don't tell anyone I said so

Thank you.  I'm sure it was probably really good at one point, but this pond also gets a lot of pressure.  Just need to feel the bite again.  Its been a while since we have caught any bass.

I fished and sailed a Sunfish at the pond/lake at mainsides, Camp Pendleton. I did catch a Bass or two if my memory serves.
