Post thunderstorm fish on a new rod

Featured Replies

Landed my biggest of the year (I think) after a round of quick thunderstorms the other day.  Trying out a new rod to replace a casualty of war I broke a few weeks ago.  Can I just say I'm a fan of the way the St. Croix Bass-X fights?!

Had 2 good runs when it saw the boat.  Caught it in tight maybe a foot off shore in less than a foot of water.  Actually had to chase it a little toward the end as it buried itself in a huge mat of weeds and I'm only rocking 10lb test.  Texas rig green pumpkin senko. Never fails to land fish.  Little 58 acre city pond.

Always feels great when you slime up a new rod.
