X 9 Crystal,832 Ghost or Something Else?

Featured Replies

I've had it with the bleeding lines, I was cranking with the Diawa J Braid Grand 30lb and my hands as well as my white Chronach 201 E5 have green stains all over them. I really like the line, but I can't deal with bleeding anymore. I had some Sufix 832 in ghost a few years back, I don't recall any issues with it. I am also interested the Berkley X 9 crystal. Can anyone share their experiences with the Berkley X 9, positives and or negatives. I believe the 832 is a safe bet, but I would be open to trying the X9 crystal or another 8 strand or greater white braid that comes in bulk spools.  Any feedback is appreciated.

You don't have to use white braids to avoid color fading - Vicious No-fade braid.

Or FINS Pitch Black Windtamer braid.

Finatic Pro braid used to be another great choice, but I think the company went south last year.

X9 is good stuff in my experience. I have used the white and it was as good for me as 832.

Take a look at Varivas.  Both of the lines I have tried, have not bled.  I have also been using Sunline Xplasma.  It bleeds some at first but then it's good to go. Great line though.

I use the bright green X9, so far so good and the stuff on my spools is a year old about now.  I haven't noticed any color wearing off.

I really like x9 a whole lot more then 832.  Its a lighter line that feels smother to me and definitely casts much farther.  Its abrasion resistance isn't as good as 832 but its not that far behind.  It is a thinner line, but its not as thin as they claim.  The 20lb feels identical or at least very close to PP v2.
