If you were to take a drive, stay 2-4 nights, fish ~3 days...where would you go?

I'm in Maine and want to take a short smallie trip.  I have a 19' glass boat I could haul and stay at a hotel or I could hire a guide and let them take me in their boat; either way is fine with me; just not sure where to go.

I'm good with a 1-2 day drive from Maine.

Ironic I live in CT and go to Washington County ME for smallies every spring, making up in volume what we give up in size (compared to CT-Candlewood/Lillinonah). One could point to Lake Champlain, Lake George, St Lawrence River but that's all relatively big water. Adirondacks maybe ... Tupper, Saranac. Pricey lodging, though. If I had the money I'd go the guide route around Clayton NY and fish the St. Lawrence. 

St. Lawrence for sure. I would take your boat but book a guide for the first day.

I know I should explore more of this state; isn't that always the way though?

We never know what we have, even when it's right in front of us.

Yeah, kinda leaning towards there

St Lawrence and stay in Alexandria bay.  Close to mouth but sheltered enough should it blow.  Lake Champlain stay at the Anchorage cottages in South Hero and have access to the inland sea (doesn't get as nasty as the broad lake).

@webertime: I'll be on St. Albans bay in the spring. Good times await.
