Best 10-12 lb line for Spinning reel primarily using 1/8-1/4 oz paddle tail & Curly tail jigs?

Featured Replies

what the others have said is good. smaller diameter on a 2500 and down is good. I max out around 10# siege mono on my 2500s and it does ok. the braid does better though, and you can use a heavier leader if you're gonna be casting into hazards or hooking into non-bass/heavy fish. the floating of the braid and the change in line diameter closer to the lure does affect the lure action, sometimes positively sometimes negatively. in this case it may slow your fall rate ever so slightly which is usually OK.

Since turning to YGK bornrush braid it has become my favorite spinning reel line by far - for casting distance and sensitivity.

It is thin PE Japanese line best suited on specialty rods/guides but I have found it works on most rods/guides just fine.

If you have not tried braid before, give it a go, thin diameter for the most fun.

Is that known by another name or description?  My search on Digitaka didn’t find what you’re describing.  Correct spelling?
