slow day at work, so i am playing hookie.

i'm gonna kayak down the mouth of the Napa River in California Wine country and see if the Striper are coming in due to all this rain we have been having.  i just want one for some fish tacos.   i know the Sturgeon fishing is on fire right now.

the best thing about winter fishing is you can sleep in to normal times.  i'm off!!

i actually called my boss yesterday and said..."hey boss, with the break in the weather tomor..."

"yea!  take the day off!".  haha.

he is bailing on friday, and was feeling guilty.

I left an hour early twice last week. Nothing going on and I was tired of sitting at work. Unfortunately, all our lakes are frozen that are close enough to fish for a short trip, so I left just to go home.

Rookies.

My hotel is on the lake and if the weather is decent I usually run out back and fish for 20 minutes. After our deep freeze this past week, it was 64 today so I hit the docks for a few minutes and even landed a little 1 pounder.

What's more, I actually get paid to fish 😀 Well, kind of. I run my Fishing with the GM clinic during the warmer months and head out back and teach the kids. This year we'll also have a few Kayak Fishing with the GM events. Guests can bring their own or rent one of our kayaks.
