Picked up a Tracker Tournament V17

Featured Replies

Well I've been looking for a aluminum boat for a couples months now and ended up finding a 1994 V17 for a good price and in great condition. I do have to replace the depth finder and the batteries but other than that its great.

The outboard is a 60hp Merc that has been serviced and had the lower unit oil changed, new water pump, and new starter all replaced in 2010.

I was just wondering if anyone round here has ever owned this model tracker and what their thoughts are on it. I keep hearing about the Targa Vs being bad about leaking but I'm hoping my boat isn't the same.

The V17 will be extremely underpowered with the 60 hp IMO.

However, I have heard nothing but good things from that model

Good deal.

Yeah the 60hp may not have the top end speed I'd like to have but 30-35 MPH is fine with me in this light of a boat.

As long as you can get on pad with full gear and a rider then you are fine.  The 60 may struggle with a full load though.

You will be happy with the savings on gas and the ability to not be afraid when you hit a stump our log.  Especially if gas goes up to over 5.00 a gallon this summer

I know thats right...I don't think I'm going to mind not paying the gas bill I did with my gramp's 175hp glass boat.

better get a 9.9 to use in Briery and Sandy!  ;)

Yeah I don't think thats going to happen...guess I'll have to stick to just using the trolling motor for a while.

Good thing about Briery is you don't have to go far to find the fish  ;D
