6.8" Keitech VS 6" Magdraft comparison

Featured Replies

How would you say these compare to each other while fishing them?

I regularly use the 6.8" Keitech on a 6/0 beast hook, and catch some big fish on them. I haven't tried the magdraft yet.

I would be using an 8/0 beast on the 6" magdraft, which is weighted 3/8, vs the 1/4oz on the 6/0 beast hook.

Would you say the action is different enough try the magdraft out?

Thanks

I've had good luck with the magdrafts.  They have a good head wag and tighter tail kick.  I think they are definitely worth throwing and are one of my favorites post spawn.  Keitechs seem to be able to work at almost any speed whereas the magdraft has definite sweet spot, somewhere around medium to medium slow.  Give it a go near the boat/shore so you can see the swim to get the cadence.  Good luck!

Magdraft Freestyle has a more "thump" (slows the bait down) and is more difficult to stay down I have no experience with the actual magdraft.

Keitech has a more total body shimmy and can be brought back VERY SLOW.

But both tails do some serious kicking, just depends on what you want as there is a time and place for each.

I have been fairly successful with the MagDraft Freestyle.  from memory, I think I use the 6/0Beast hook.  I didnt want to go too big because the bait shimmies almost down the entire length..  even the shoulders seem to wag.  I felt a big hook would limit the undulation.

when a 6lb bass grabbed it;  I was almost in disbelief.  I was shocked.
