I am in the process of purchasing a new fishfinder. Like many people on here I am researching both the Lowrance with side scan and the Humminbird Si units. The posts on here have been very helpful. My question here is whether or not the new Lowrance HDS units can share gps data with the older units. The one currently on my boat is a LGx-25. I did run the data cable when I installed the unit, just curious if a new HDS is compatible with this. If anyone wants to chime in on Lowrance vs Humminbird thats fine. While I have had no problems with my Lowrance products I am leaning toward the Humminbird 898

I recommend you talk to Greg(R520dvx) he will tell you like it is on both units.  PM him with your questions or better yet get his phone number and call him.
