I have a Lowrance LCX-25 unit and a new HD8 unit. I am trying to transfer my waypoints from the LCX-25 to the HD8. I have downloaded the waypoints from the old unit but can't seem to get the waypoints to display on the new unit. Do I just put the chip with the waypoints in the unit and it should automatically read it, or do I need to initiate a download. If so How? Thanks

You'll have a great time. Get to the launch area (not just the area, the ramp!) and you'll get to talk with the pros and get some great pictures. Try both times, the launch and the load. I went a couple of years ago, great event. Sure gets you fired up for the upcoming season. Have fun!

Early spring, pre spawn, seems to be the most difficult time for fishing, speaking for myself anyway. Here in the midwest, first of the year tournaments usually start about mid march, with water temps around 46 - 50 degrees. Each year the scenerio plays out the same, me and my partner run and gun with rattle traps and crankbaits (baits we typically only fish in spring), sometimes doing well but more times not. Each year I tell myself I'm going to hit main lake points, throw a jig, and fish it slow. By doing this surely I can get 5 bites! But I always resort to the run and gun.What are some early season patterns that of done well for you readers?

The zoom trick worm is a huge producer for me. In the spring I throw it weightless, usually texas rigged. When the fish move out I use it on a 1/8oz shakey head. Can't beat the price/quantity. Green pumpkin most of the time. I plan on trying it on a drop shot a little this year

I am in the process of purchasing a new fishfinder. Like many people on here I am researching both the Lowrance with side scan and the Humminbird Si units. The posts on here have been very helpful. My question here is whether or not the new Lowrance HDS units can share gps data with the older units. The one currently on my boat is a LGx-25. I did run the data cable when I installed the unit, just curious if a new HDS is compatible with this. If anyone wants to chime in on Lowrance vs Humminbird thats fine. While I have had no problems with my Lowrance products I am leaning toward the Humminbird 898

I am curious as to what are some of your favorite (most productive) fishing techniques, as well as baits, used when trying to catch fish that are guarding fry. As well, what are some which have proven unsuccessful.

Hey, I thought about giving my boat a good cleaning over the menorial day week-end. What kind of wax do you guys use on your fiberglass boats. Do you think using the same wax (Turtle Wax) I use on my car would be O.K?

With out a doubt a plastic worm. But a jig with a crawl trailer would be a close second.

Here locally we have been having some cool nights, getting down in the 40's at night. Along with the cool nights we have had a lot of rain. So in the past week I have seen a surface temp. change on our lake by 6-8 degrees and the level rise by about 3-4 ft. The fishing has slowed to a halt, any suggestions? Current water temp about 60 - 62 degrees. I would guess probably 75% of the fish have spawned

I am sure this topic has been covered numerous times but I would like to open it anyway. I am curious how most of you operate your live wells to maintain good health of fish in tournaments. Currently me and my partner turn on the live well pumps and pump fresh water into the well all day, with out shutting it off. Our fish are always kicking when we pull them out. How do you feel this would compare to filling the well and then simply aerating the well? Any of you use additives, (reguvenate)?
