BFS Help

Featured Replies

I have many 13 reels and I've been wanting to try BFS. I can not find any bfs spools for 13 reels.

Solved by WRB-2.0

I have never even heard of anyone using 13 fishing reels for bfs. Typically people use a Shimano Aldeberan, some form of a Daiwa steez, Zillion or Air or one of the Kastking models. There are also some other budget models but they seem to be hit or miss to me.

What JediAmoeba said. 13 fishing doesn't have a spool BFS conversion or BFS reel in their stable. Rod and reel mfg's are slowly getting BFS gear. Reason why Shimano and Daiwa have a few BFS equipment is cuz they are originally a Japanese type of fishing technique and setup that has trickled to the U.S.

Eventually 13 Fishing will possibly have BFS gear but when that will happen, IDK. Kastking is Chinese fishing gear, that I believe made it to the U.S. market via Amazon. I reckon they saw the how BfS was starting to get popular and came out with the Kasking Zephyr a couple years ago. And now they have a couple more BFS reels available.

Eventually 13 Fishing and other reel mfg's will have some type of BFS gear coming up. I'm hoping Bass Pro would come up with a BFS rod and reel.

13 Fishing has a higher end shallow light weight spool reel BOSS in 8:1 ratio.

Thanks. I appreciate your help.

I love my Carbonlites 2.0 rods. Thanks for the info.

Most common aftermarket spools are for shimano or diawa, some bmax3 and bmax4 spools also linger but aren't as nice for the price.
