i recently purchased a 596c hd di to replace my 6yr old garmin 240....lakes are all frozen here so i ran it in simulator mode to play around with it.....wow..i can't believe the quality of the picture....if the picture is 1/2 that good in the real world i won't have any excuses not to find fish......i'll probably play with the sonar rather than fish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL!  I've had those same thoughts!  It'd be almost more fun to play with the sonar!

im planning on getting one of these with the gps for my new jon this spring. I know a guy who has  a SI unit and he say sometimes he just sits in the console and explores with the SI. He has found a few cars and a sunken boat on it already. :D
