Has anyone tried the Spin Walker lure? If so, what do you think? I can't decide if it looks gimmicky or cool.

the reviews on TW are brutal.

"a brick swims better..."  hahhaha..

I dont even love the whopperP.  I like to cast close to cover and that lure dives into the water when it lands and always comes up twisted up in the weeds.  could be my own casting skills, but it is annoying.

@Darth-Baiter, you are so right about the WP diving. In mid-cast, I can almost hear its klaxon. When I watch wanna-be Al Lindners on YouTube explaining how to fish the Whopper Plopper and see them start to retrieve as soon as it lands, I think, "Amateurs."

You have to let it pop back to the surface after it lands unless you want the first five of your retrieve to be underwater.

Thanks for the info on the Spin Walker. I have two loaded into my shopping cart, but now I'm going to empty that cart.

Yup, you gotta let them pop up, unless of course you pitch them underhand.

You need to work on your casting - sidearm it in there and while controlling the rod tip and line it will just lightly land in the water without much of a splash.

Sometimes you want to overhand it and have them hear it but most of the time you want to just lightly put the lure in there. Basically the same way to cast large swimbaits.
