First day fishing 2023, first fish on first cast.

Featured Replies

Hope this us a good sign for 2023 !

My first day fishing in 2023, and I caught a bass on my first cast.

Last year here upstate NY the water levels were low all summer. Glad to see they're back to normal for now.

It was a small one, but it was only 38 degrees outside and I left soon afterwards.

Of course I forgot to replace batteries in my scale !

Way to start the season. I’m in upstate NY as well and my lakes are still 75% or more frozen. Nice looking crankbait as well. Perfect pumpkinseen/bluegill imitation!

Cool - but superstition says you just jinxed yourself for the entire year ?

Nice!  I've got open water all around me, but still probably a month away from having any time to cast a line. I haven't even done any off-season tackle prep or maintenance.
