Anderson connector - did I buy wrong one?

Featured Replies

Today my 6 AWG marine wire shows up to complete the install of my Motorguide Xi3 kayak motor. I'm powering it with a 12v 100aH Ionic lithium battery (thanks for the recommendations here). I also ordered four of the Anderson SB50 Quick Connect plugs in size 6 AWG.

  • one on a short jumper connected to my battery with ring terminals;
  • one to connect to the battery Anderson connector
  • one to connect to the trolling motor 10AWG wiring
  • one to connect to the trolling motor Anderson

I'm thinking I messed up on the one to connect to the trolling motor 10AWG wiring. Should I have ordered a 10AWG Anderson plug for this particular plug? Do all the Anderson SB50 plugs connect to oneanother regardless of the wire they are sized for?
