Shimano rod service

Featured Replies

I tripped and knocked the ring out of a guide on a poison adrena. Where can I get it repaired that will replace it with the original part? I see reel service locations on the shimano site but no authorized rod repair.
I suppose as an alternative I could order the ring and take it to a local repair shop.

Any ideas?

If the ring is not broken, you can push it back in a put a tiny drop of something like Crazy glue.

The guide took a pretty hard knock (long story) and the ring wouldn't go back in.

Any competent rod builder can match the guide and wrap for an effective repair. Shipping is often a deal breaker depending on the value of the rod and estimate for repair. Replacing a single guide is a $10 plus guide job give or take.

I sent an AGS rod out locally and got back a standard fuji guide /facepalm. So I'm in triple check mode; last few repairs I did I just sent guides from the manufacturer.

Every time I try to have a guides replaced or repaired locally the attention to detail isn't there. Most of the time they say it looks fine or slap some epoxy on it instead or wrapping it again. Sometimes matching the thread color is tough too. Especially Megabass.
