  • Picked up my bass raider 3 or 4 months ago and I absolutely love it.  I did a bunch of mods including a casting deck and the deck is rock solid.  It's 3x more stable on my deck than standing in some o

The paddling test results are in. A regular paddle is a no-go. An extra-long kayak did pretty well if seated on a board placed flat across the gunwales or used from the standing position like you would on a SUP. Obviously, going into a head wind or upstream was more difficult but not impossible. I think the use of a kayak paddle would be just fine for a small river float trip. No doubt, a trolling motor will be the easiest and best in most situations. The addition of a rudder helped a lot. In the future I will make a larger one but for a quick fix I made one from a old license plate zip-tied to a thin piece of scrap metal and C-clamped to the stern. As for the fishing report, I did manage to put 14 speckled trout in the box the other night while fishing from the BR. Thanks guys for the idea to use a rudder.

I like it but did not see a price, just under $1200 in the faq. Anyone else see a price?

I like the idea of being able to roll it or use a hand truck. I do not think it will track well though.

I found out the hard way that the fuse that comes with the Pelican 10E isn't big enough for a Minn Kota Endura Max 55.  :)

I was trolling back to the boat ramp when I suddenly lost all power.  Fuse blew and melted the wires right in half.  Luckily I was only about a hundred yards from the ramp and had no problems padding the rest of the way.

Bow fishin rig.

Bow fishin rig.

That looks great.  Any details you care to share?

Do you use your boat for regular fishing?  Just leave the lights/mounts on and remove the front deck?

TNReb, wish i could. A friend of mine who bow fishis found it on a web site, screen shot it and sent it to me. Thought i would share. I cant seem to get pic of mine on here. Ive tried everything!

My happy place!

Does anybody flip or pitch sitting down from y'alls boats? Do y'all have trouble doing it

Tnreb, I've been meaning to cut that inline fuse out since I'm using a minn kota power station battery box just to avoid that possibility! Need to get on that

My batteries, rudder and LED spotlight.

Bluetooth speaker and paddle set up.

Where did you get your paddle mounts from. I have been looking for them for a while now.

Is your bluetooth speaker rechargeable or battery operated?  What make/model is it?  I have one, but it only lasts about 3 hours.  I've had it go dead plenty of times.

Iceman71, their Costal Kayak brand. Web site is kayakfishing.com i found them on google, searched locking paddle clips.

TNReb, its an Ecorox. Rechargable, it last for about 8-10 at a time. Sound quality and product quality are awesome!!

Tfultz I sure like that bow fishing rig. How much run time do you get out of those lights?

The other afternoon it came a thunderstorm while my boat was still in the back of my truck. When I went to unload it after the rain, I noticed water sloshing inside the hull. Take mind that this is a brand new boat with no cracks. Could the water have seeped in the seam on the outer edge? Mine has the drain plugs in the end so it was no big deal to open them up and let it run out but has anybody else had this issue? Has anybody run a bead of silicone caulk around the edge  to seal off the seam?

I dont know. It was a pic a buddy of mine found on a bow fishing web site. If they were LED probably get a long run time.

Pointhunter75, I've got right at $200 in all of it. Cam cleats, pullys and the matterial to make the mount.

tfultz,

Since you've mounted so many items to your Bass Raider, I was wondering how you go about doing it. I plan on ordering paddle clips like yours, but didn't want to take a chance of compromising the integrity of the hull.

Thanks.
