Lew's Tournament MP vs Tournament XP.

Featured Replies

Which would you guys pick if you had a choice? I have some credit at Bass pro, so I can get either one of these. The XP is the Bass pro exclusive and its $20 more. I assume its because it has the speed dial.

Let me know what you guys think?

Speed dial is a nice feature. You can upgrade to a speed dial. The mp has more gear ratios available. I also like the black finish

I'd choose the MP. It's only one bearing upgrade away from being a dual bearing supported pinion gear reel.

Mp already has pinion support. That's the difference between mb and mp.

Yes but it's only one bearing one bushing kind of "P2" pinion support, which can be upgraded to dual bearing.

I have the MP and run the brakes around 2 and it casts a MILE. Smooth reeling and feels sturdy. VERY happy with the reel and highly recommend it.

For what it's worth....I have an mb and kvd (basically the mp) and a lfs speed spool.

I feel my speedspool fishes the best of the 3. Casts the best and controls line the best.

Just my experience.

I ended up with a returned XP for 90$.

I have been using it for my top water, nice reel....very much like my MP.

I got a chance to fish with all the reels today. I love them all actually....even my mach2 haha. I love having the ability to have 5-6 rods all rigs up ready to go. I have always had 2 rods, but adding more changed the game for me.
