  1. HAHA, for real, they are starving it looks like. Good to see you to Crick, been a while.
  2. Been a while guys....things are going well, had to move, which was crazy. I did get to move to a house on a lake though. I am fishing almost everyday, minus a few days here and there for vacations. I hope everyone is doing well. Hopefully going to hit Headwaters soon. This is the last one I caught, using a drop shot. I actually got a drop shot rod not too long ago.
  3. Got a little fishing in before the rain came, but its nice weather out these days in florida. Cooling down nicely. They loving the lipless.....
  4. Have tried to get out more, but its been rough at home for me. I did go out a few times in the past few days and got some fish, missed a headwaters trip this weekend. I hope to get out there next week or the week after. Hoping things get better soon and I can get some more time on the water. They loving the Rat-L-Traps. Also, the small swimbaits. I have been having good luck with both.
  5. Yes, 3.5 in Black/blue flake and green with red flake. I used 2 different ones, VMC screw lock 5/0 and Gama EWG 5/0. The Gama seems just a tad bigger, but both worked. The screw lock does not hold very well on the heavy bait. So trying the EWG now.
  6. Few casts in before the rain storm, testing out the other color Yamatunki. Can not wait to try this at Headwaters.
  7. Fall fishing in full effect. I went out late last night after some gaming (WoW). I was so hyped up, I could not sleep. So I took my trusty mini swimbait out for a evening jaunt. I got a little dinker, about a 1lbs and got this guy, was 3lbs on the nose. Also, second picture is the first fish on the Yamatanuki from Yamomoto. I just got them in the mail and happy to say, they do catch fish, even small ones. Only thing, they are not very durable. Even though its a thick heavy bait (5/8oz), it ripped up on 2 bites and 1 fish. Very slow presentation, almost like a texas rig (not swimming worm)....let it sink (slow sink btw, about a ft every 2s or so), pop it up and let it sink again. Eachtime they would bite it on the fall. I had 2 nice bites and 1 I got, the first one was a bite, but when i set the hook, was already out of his mouth. Headwaters is going off in the right spots. The Spillway is off, even though there were a dozen or so people there. I am going back next weekend, bringing the new baits and see how we do. I want to go fish a tournament on Okeechobee with a friend of mine, really excited about that. Been practicing my technics and getting gear rigged up.
  8. Had a good day yesterday. The little mini swimbait is killing it for me. Even after the 2nd fish in the pic ate the tail, the tail-less keitech caught me a nice 4.5lbs'er...
  9. Little late night carolina riggin.....
  10. Hit Headwaters today, had a great day as always. Really nice day, till about 12 or so, then it was SUPER hot.

First trip to Headwaters, GREAT spot. Lots of Hydrilla.....like LOTS. Weed line edges did the best for us. Using a 3.5" Whopper Plopper in the early morning got me my first fish. Soon as it hit, it dove right into the Hydrilla. Second fish was on a Zoom Speed worm, June bug/ red flake. I got 3 more that were about the same size and smaller. Planning on going back in 2 weeks to explore more spots. Anyone have any spots in there, let me know. The area around the flag were killing my buddies chatterbait. Second trip out was great, got a nice 6lbs'er off a chatter bait. Got to meet Roland Martin too, wow.
  12. A little afternoon Rat-L-Trap action. Going to hit Headwaters on Sunday, so hoping to get some good fishing in and break in the new gear right.
  13. Caught a few today, 2 on the 3" kietech and 1 off blazin worm.
  14. Best statement ever!
  15. You're hired Crick, our office can be my new boat when I get it. Any legal issues can be brought up to my attorney.
  16. Just so you know, I did not pay that much ? I got the reel used for 220$ and the rod I got using a friends half off coupon with St Croix to get most of my rods. That's 60% off whatever I buy, so I bought a bunch. Had to wait a while for the legend though, but the victory's I get almost right away. I took the opportunity to upgrade all my gear since I am fishing 4-5 times a week, depending. I can appreciate the differences. The only problem is, I need another 2 Rod-Runners haha.... I am going to get a full on bass boat. My son is showing some interest in fishing and my girl wants something to take out on the lake. I have been looking on craigslist and offer up for a decent used boat. I might get a kayak one day, I was looking at that at Dicks the other day. I think I need a full on boat though, gives me some place to store all of these.....and get my girl off my back ROFL. That should be a picture hanging on a wall, thats AMAZING, what a beautiful day. Man, I love fall time.
  17. Ok, I know its not a bass.....but tell me, how many of you get catfish on a texas rig? (Blazin worm). I wasn't fishing it slow either, burning it on the weed edge line. I almost thought it was a baby snakehead when I felt the hit. It hit it moving pretty fast too, never in my life have I ever caught a catfish A- during the day and B- on a plastic worm. Got to use my new Legend Xtreme, hands down the best rod I have ever used in terms of sensitivity and weight. This rod BLOWS me away. The Metanium is going to be my new GO-TO reel. I can not put it down, its so nice. Fatty catty too, eating really well it seems.
  18. Really been liking this new spinning combo, took it out today with a 3" keitech on a VMC 1/8th swimjig head. I guess they really liked it, got some nice fish, all within about an hour. Loving the weather now, it was about 79F when the sun went down. Looks like I have fully broken in my new setup, maybe do a new leader soon, but overall it feels really good. Its fun to play the fish a bit, instead of just powering them in on a bait caster.
  19. Little late night cranking, just to test out the new G Loomis crank rod. I haven't tried too much actual crank baits, a few here and there.
  20. Needed another spinning reel to move my lews over to my 2p trunk rod. I had some pts at Dicks, so picked up a Shimano Ultegra. WOW! What a smooth reel, feels great.....best thing is, got a fish and a PB, they are getting smaller and smaller haha, measured and officially the smallest fish out of my pond. He felt like a Mayan on the end of the line haha. Got him on a zoom trick (Bull Bream, dipped in chartreuse dye) on a shaky head.
  21. Well, been so busy with my boys activities, but in my down time I had a chance to upgrade some stuff. I upgraded my Dobyns Fury to Champions (734, 703SF) and St Croix Victory's (The Marshal, Max Marshal, Rip-N-Chatter, Power Flipp) . Also got a St Croix legend Xtreme as my new texas rig rod. I threw down some cash on the good stuff as I am fishing a lot and plan on getting a boat soon enough. I took a trip to Headwaters on labor day....also, been taking quick trips to the ponds around my house when I can. I can't get out everyday, but try to get out as much as possible. First fish are from Headwaters, my buddy got a nice 7lbs on a giant swimbait. I got that 3.5lbs on a smaller Basspro Boss Glide. Look at the peacock and the glide bait. Thats a S Waver 200 is almost as big as him. Also, got the other peacock on a Johnson spoon. The bottom fish is on a Chatterbait, that Rip-N-Chatter rod is amazing for chatterbaits.
  22. Ok, another pB, this is officially the smallest fish I have caught in here. I didn't even know I had a fish on, thought I got some eel grass and was dragging it. It didn't fight one bit, not a single tug. I pulled up on my line and boom, on the new rod and reel. Have to admit, really liking the Metanium, wow.....so smooth its insane. Fish off a zoom speed worm, junebug and I dipped the tail chartreuse.
  23. Well, storm was here and gone, back and forth...still went out and on the really bad times, I took some time to upgrade some of my gear. I got a great deal locally on a Shimano Metanium and 2 SLX DCs. I have to admit, I think I am a Shimano fan. Lews is good, really good for the money, but Shimano, especially the Metanium is a step above for sure. I may have to upgrade all my gear to Shimano now, arrgg....Only downside is the drag, will have to see how it pans out, but 3 Shimano's in a couple of days should tell you all you need to know. I did get a nice one with the first run of one of the SLX DC, tighten the drag all the way down pretty much, maybe a few clicks out just for fun haha. I really think, just by pulling on it, its more than 11lbs, it seems more like 13-14-15 maybe. Just judging from my Lews reels, which are all 20. I do have another St Croix coming, a Legend Extreme 7'1 MHXF coming for the Metanium. Its just tied up to my Texas rig rod to test. I have to admit, the Metanium casts a lot farther than the DC, even with a lighter lure (1/8th tung and zoom 6" speed worm). I like them both, but I think I am leaning towards the Metanium a little more. I got these the past couple of days, one off a zoom speed and a Keitech swimbait on a VMC jig head.
