Streak on 61 days. I have a wedding today, so I might not be able to get out. SO I went out at the stroke of midnight. 7mins in.....fish for 8/6. Off a mag speed worm. Funny, was going to cut this off and put on the normal 6", but thought I would toss in around and see.

STREAK HAS REACHED 60 days!!! Was a good and H O T day at Headwaters. However, we did pretty well, about 20 fish total....all about 1-3lbs. It would have been more if it wasn't for the awful hot. Blue bird skies....oh my, could only fish about 5 hours before we starting to melt. Guess who was back at the spillway? Boat behind the fish ? First 2 were on carolina rig and the bottom 2 were on a swimbait/under spin. Got the rest on a mag zoom speed worm.

Fitting that 60 days will be at Headwaters, Going to try and keep it going, but 2 straight months has me really excited. My fish/dink of the day.....off a junebug red speed worm. I am only going to pull 1 a day, give these little guys a rest. I stop once I get my fish of the day.

Thank you Crick, I love my new tagline.....in fact, it will be my signature.... I will indeed be listing everything I used for this. I am hoping to keep it going through august, going a little farther than I planned. Thank you for the support. Love seeing your catch and where you fish, absolutely beautiful where you are.

Well, for streak purposes, I got my fish for today, streak is on fire.....same as me, its H O T! 98F and feels like 108 with the UV index of 9. No clouds today, blue bird skies. He has no way of fitting the lure in his mouth, but he bit it away. Going back once the crematoria is done and the land is scorched. I will edit this with a bass.....just COULD NOT stand that heat.

Streak continues!!! Wasn't able to go out long, but took a tiny trap out (my oldest bait, old school Bill Lewis hard case with the little card inside). Got this little guy. However, I ended up losing the lure to a BIG peakcock. He broke my 15lbs braid when he ducked under some rocks. Bummer, but I have caught TONS off that and I already ordered another tiny trap. I had to pick a different color his time around, something that has been working here in my pond.

My streak continues, pouring now and suppose to for the rest of the night, but got out there right before the storm happened. Broke off a HUGE snakehead, at least 10lbs if not more. Stupid thing ran under the drain pipe and scrapped my line, had him on the shore and boom, line snaps. Got these 2 of a Rat-L-Trap.

HAHA, I screamed LETS GO!!!! when I pulled it up. I knew it was big and I knew it wasn't a snakehead (they slither away when they run with the line, can feel the snake like movement). I got so excited, I did a few fist tosses when I lipped it and picked it up, I knew it was going to be the biggest so far (out of my ponds).

Help with a Medium Heavy / Fast Rod
I have dobyns 703, 705, 733 and 734. If you want on the lighter side of MHF, go for the 703. If you want to go a little longer, the 733 is great. I also have a few st croix rods, the Power flipping and the max marshal. What are you fishing with it? If I had the 705, 733 and 734....I could fish pretty much everything minus giant swim baits. 705 would be my crankbait/chatterbait rod, 703/733 is my texas rig rod and the 734 would be my spinnerbait/buzzbait rod. So it really comes down to what you plan to fish with....but if I had to pick only 1 rod....it would be either the 733 or 734, depending on how heavy of a lure you want to throw.

A little family photo......My girl thinks I have a rod problem and I told her she was right. My problem is I need another Rod-Runner to carry them all. Each one has its place and I can fish almost any presentation. I do need a frog setup though. I do not want to switch out my punch setup (super grip) every time I want to toss a frog.

MidwayUSA?
I order my ammo and parts from them, have at least 20-25 orders with them and only had 1 issue when a extended mag base plate, came broken. They sent me out a new one right away. 100% trust worthy.

I have started night fishing after reading this forum. I have been doing more at night than during the day. The do seem to hit just as well at night, but yea...its either the the sun or the bugs. To me, there are more spots where the fish are active at night. Now this may be a good thing or a bad thing. During the day, if you find the fish in the shade, they are normally ALL there. You can keep casting into the same spot and catch a lot. At night, they are more spread out, so while you may get more fish at night, you need to move around more since there is no shade for them to all hang out in and for you to target. Personally, all my PBs have been caught during the day. Just because I never thought to bass fish at night. When we were younger, we catfished at night. Before this forum, I never caught a bass at night, just never thought about trying. Now, I go out ever night around 12am and fish for an hour or so. I can walk to my pond in 2mins, so I can fish anytime I want. I just wished I got back into fishing sooner, I have lived in this neighborhood for 3 years and never knew there was good fishing in here.

Streak, day 50. I finally beat my record in my ponds today. It took over a month to finally beat it, the old record was 3lbs 12oz. This guy came in at 5lbs even. So beat it by over a pound! I know there are lunkers in there. If there is a 5lbs'er, I know there is a 7-8 that ate better than this one did and is the same age. I am on a mission to find it. Got a few more, but only went out for a hour and a half, 97F out right now.....my biscuits were burning. 3 of them were on a Carolina rig with a zoom junebug lizard and one (spinning rod) was on a shaky head.

Today is one hard day....the last of the family coming in and we laying him to rest on Weds. With everyone coming in at different times, we have had to the discussion about what happened, multiple times. It was too much for me to do at the moment, so I grabbed my pole for a quick few casts. Streak is on day 49!!! LETS GOOOOOOOO!!! Fish for 7/24. Really loving this St Croix as my crankbait rod.

I didn't get a chance last night to fish, was really late when I came home and haven't been sleeping with all going on. However, the streak must continue....fish for 7/23 (Day 48) off the new rod. Really like the Victory line of St Croix, very sensitive for the money. Both fish off the Rat-L-Trap, as you can see.
