  1. Hit headwaters yesterday, was a good day...got about 30 fish total, mostly 1-2lbs. Biggest was 4lbs off a bass pro boss glide bait. The others were on a magnum speed worm, junebug red. I missed a couple on a kietech swimbait, but it was getting bit towards the end. Wasn't super super hot either, around 90F, which is actually kind of cool for us.
  2. Went out for a little bit today before dinner, wanted to test out a jig head with a swimbait. I got a nice one using this for the first time. The swimbait is the Kietech blue flash and the head is by VMC. Got a chance to use the new scale too. Didn't get to fish long, about 30mins or so.
  3. That's another thing I wanted to achieve with my goal, try new things out of my comfort zone. I learned a lot, but still have a lot more that I want to know. I want to get into the finesse presentations more, get a med-light spinning setup. I want to go the exact opposite as well and go to big glide baits. So much more to learn, can't wait to see what those big glide/swimbaits brings me at Headwaters this weekend. Heading out there Saturday morning and hoping to beat Roland to the Spillway haha. I do have a good friend that fishes tournaments that I fish with. So he teaches me a lot of new things. Same person I have been going with this summer, which is why I come home from that trip with a plan for a new setup haha.
  4. Took yesterday off to give my back a break, but was feeling better today. Just grabbed my spinning rod and went to the pond with a shaky head and a Ned rig. I didn't have to fish for long as I got this guy on the first cast. However, that was it for 30mins or so. I said I would post a pic of all the gear listed in my pics, well, here are my rods, all used during this whole thing. I always keep my Texas and Carolina rig tied up, but I switch out out the others using a VMC crankbait snap. Range from medium (spinning) to Heavy (Lew's custom speed stick). I do switch the reels between rods depending on what I am doing. Right now that Lew's rod is my glade bait setup. My victory on the right end is now my flippin/pitching setup. Reels range from Lew's Tournament MP (3), a Tournament XP, Custom XP, Super duty LFS. Spinning are Custom pro speed spin and a Mach 2. Rods are Dobyns 703C, 703SF, 705CB, 733C, 734C...the St Croix's are a Triumph 6'6 Medium/fast spin (My 2 piece, stuff in the trunk setup) Victory 7'4 Max Marshal and 7'6 Power flippin. The Only lew's rod is the Custom speed stick Supergrip. Its 7'10 heavy fast, named the Ledge Raider. I have a mach 2 casting rod thats not pictured, but was my first Carolina rig rod and another Lew's custom super grip for REALLY heavy baits, 7'10 Xtra Heavy rated for 3oz -10oz, named the Jungle Rod. Streak lasted 76 days, not every fish was a bass, but there were only 2-3 days where that happened. Other species caught were Peacock bass, Bullseye snakeheads, Mayan Cichlids. Top 3 largest bass was 5lbs, 4lbs 12oz, and 3lbs 14oz. Fish mainly range from about .5lbs to 2.5lbs. Biggest fish was caught on Carolina rig with junebug/chartreuse tail, next was on a Googan Blazin worm and the 3 was a Zoom speed worm. I am working on the baits in a pic, but I have TONS to put out and I have to do while my girl is not around, she gets mad at all the fishing stuff haha. Giving a listed break down. 5. You getting all these nice fish is really making me think. I know I could tow a kayak with my car , I just have the need for speed. Haha. Loxahachee is a a good place too. Just a lot of gators. Last headwaters trip, there was a gator that followed us the entire way through our trolling session. Like 45 mins of trolling the weeds edge. He was a waiting for an easy meal. There are some really big gators down here too. The biggest we saw out in headwaters, judging from the head and back out of the water. Was about 13-14ft. I do see kayaks out there. Not too far from the ramps, just never thought about getting one. I would for sure need a motor on that haha.
  6. Figure the last fish would be a peacock....but streak is done....Goal reached!!!!! I am sooooo ready to give my back a break, but glad I made it through this long. Got this guy off a Ned rig, actually, this is the first fish I got on a Ned rig ever. I am going to go back out after the sun goes down, now I am hoping it rains to block out the flaming ball in the sky.
  7. 1 more day to go.....its blazing hot again, 97F where I am right now. Sun is out in full effect. Fish are still on the shore line or just near it, nothing bit when I dropped down low. Got him off a zoom speed worm. It poured this morning, my shoes got soaked standing in 1.5" of water. Have to admit, did cool me off a bit. Forgot my scale, of course, buy a new scale (Rapala high contrast 50lb) and I forgot it....If I had to guess, would say about 1.5lbs.
  8. I appreciate that. It was easy at times and tough at times, more so during August. My brownies were baking most of the time. I did get to meet Roland Martin and fished next to him a couple of times. I got to meet you all and I have to admit, seeing all the pics from you guys really helped me stay on task. I was just looking for other local ponds in my area when I found this site talking about a park close to me. I really enjoy doing this and I am glad to have found a group of people who love it as well. I hope to fish with one or all of you some day. Any time you in the Broward county area in South Florida, drop me a message. We can fish my ponds here and I know a few other spots here and there. Pretty much all my streak days fish were in my neighborhood ponds, minus the few Headwaters trips I have taken. So thank all of you for putting up those pics and letting everyone enjoy them. Just know they are truly appreciated. I have no idea, but I missed this some how. WOW Crick, thats some nice fish there. You canoe and Kayak people are crazy, I am so worried Ill set the hook and flip out of it. I am looking now for a small skiff, something that needs a little work, gives me a project to do.
  9. I got the battle scars to prove it. So many little scabs from scratching....stepped in more Fire ant piles than I could count. 3 snakes and I hooked a BIRD, that was NOT fun. However, setting goal and sticking with it, gives me a sense of satisfaction I can not get any place else. I am happy I was able to get out there. Lucky I didn't take any over night trips this summer. Well, even if I did, I bought 2 two piece rods to pack away with me for such an occasion. I am going to try and get out there still, just will be a bit harder come school time.
  10. TWO MORE DAYS TO GO for my goal of a fish every day for the summer. My son goes back to school on monday and has already started football practice. Hopefully I will be able to get out everyday, but with that, plus his school, its going to be tough. The last day of my goal (Sunday) I will put together every lure and plastic I used, plus all my gear, you can see my gear now in the gear section. This was a quick one, got out there right before the mosquitoes started to come out. Got him off a shaky head with zoom trick, but trying the dip on the tail. Chartreuse color dye and junebug color.
  11. 3 more days to go for my goal. Streak lives on. Weather is awful still, bit of rain and then blazing heat. I got out right after work and got my fish for the day. Got him on a zoom speed worm (6" junebug). I had a nice bite on my carolina rig, but it did not take the whole thing it its mouth it seemed. I set the hook to the side, but may have tug it out of his mouth. No worries, Ill catch you later buddy ?
  12. Streak is on! I had to wait till teh rain stopped, which didnt happen till a little while ago. However, got out during the break and it started to pour right before I got this guy. I am glad it had a break to get my fish for the day.
  13. Streak goes on, almost there.....my boy starts school next week. It was raining and mosquitoes were out in full force, but I got my fish and got the hell indoors. Mosquitoes were the size of dragonflies! Just got him about 15mins ago. Got him off a shaky head....with a zoom trick worm.
  14. You got to love the fish. They bring us years of enjoyment…decades even. it’s funny to think what the fish thinks of this….haha
  15. Streak day 68. My girl keeps telling me I need to have a funny pic. So here we go. Gave the little girl a kiss before I put her back in. Got it off a zoom speed worm. Super super hot today. 98F and the feels line is 109F. My biscuits were burning.
  16. Streak day 68, went out earlier and had to run to the store after, but got my fish for the day. Really hot and rainy again, story of Florida. Got him off a chatter bait.
  17. Streak day 67!. Went out a bit ago and got this guy in the rain. My feet were soaked, water comes up under the grass. I love Florida during the summer, Hot and rainy. Got him off a blazing worm. Just switched out my beads on my rigs for brass. Glass and tungsten, not a good mix haha.
  18. Streak day 66. Was raining, a lot, but got out for a few to get my fish of the day, got on a blazin worm. Man even with the rain, the temp was 85F.
  19. Appreciate that man. You seem to be on a streak yourself. Good stuff. Love having a goal set and working hard towards it. Rain or shine. Heat or mosquitoes. Even though it’s not terribly difficult, it still feels good to accomplish something you set you mind to. I love this group of people. We are from all walks of life and here we are with a common interest that brings us all together. You guys are amazing and appreciate all the words of encouragement. Good fishing to you all.
  20. Streak Day 65! Went out around 1am to see if they were biting. Looks like they are, this is the second biggest bass out of this lake so far. 4lbs 13oz.....just 3oz shy of the largest I have got. Fought it for 2mins as it dove into the grass after he hit it. I really thought for a second it was a snakehead, but didn't feel the slither when it took off. Really happy it wasn't. Got it off a Blazin worm in Junebug color.
  21. Streak is still going.....Heat warning today, but it started to rain a bit so I went out in it (it stopped for an hour or so ) and got my fish. My first spot was a bust, nothing....2 bites, but no takers. I moved over to another spot and got this guy. Should be 4lbs when fat, but was just under 3lbs. Got him off a swim jig with a paddle tail swimbait trailer. Believe its a strike king 3/8 swim jig. The trailer is a Keitech, blue sparkle, forgot the name of the color. PS- Added Gopro footage.
  22. Streak is still going....went out earlier, drained me so bad I had to come home and nap for a bit. Day 63, fish for 8/8. I actually setup the go pro, but didnt notice it was on time lapse. So I got a few shots of me catching him, but not the video =( Also, It was set to 1080p as well, corrected so the next video will be better. Caught on the good ole ball and chain......
