Transporting 7'11 + Rods

Featured Replies

How do ya'll transport the 7'11 + rods? leave them on the deck of the boat, rod lockers, A.R.E rod tubes? Note: My rod locker maxes out at 7'7 so the rod locker isn't an option lol

I don't own a boat but I have an 8 foot musky rod that easily fits in my toyota Corolla.

put the butt end on the passenger floor in the front and the rest of rod through the seats leaning on the back seat.

for longer trips I use a Plano rod tube that extends to 8.5 feet.

I've got an 8' and 9' that ride strapped in the boat along the gunnel bench of a deep V on the way to the lake. No way to bounce out, but I don't know if strapped on the deck of a bass boat would be secure enough for me. If I'm going long distance they go from passenger floorboard along the console towards the rear window of the truck on the drivers side. It's a bit of a challenge to get them in there but they're out of the way for the most part.

Haven't had them out yet in my new boat but I think I can still run them along the gunnel, or place them on the floor (fiberglass deep V). But again that doesn't apply to bass boats.

I am too simple. My catfishing rods are the only ones that are 8'. They are cheap and I will set them down inside the truck bed and lightly ratchet strap them to hold them in place
