mattlures bluegill?

Featured Replies

well i ordered a mattlure ultimate bluegill. i didnt have luck with the baby bass due to it running sideways but i am gonna give them 1 more try with the bluegill.  anyone who uses them whats the best way youve found to work them, just crank em in?

i also got a slow sinking castaic gizzard shad

Best my partner and I have found so far is an erratic retrieve.  Stop, start, fast, slow, etc...  warning you though, hang on to your rod... they will hit like a tuna, fast and hard.

I hear a lot of people talking about Mattlures. Where do I find there stuff?

haha...all good man. good luck

If your baby bass is running wrong it is because the tail got bent a little. To fix this just suspend it in a pot of boiling water for a minute or two. Do not put it in over the eyes or they will fall off. Then move the lure over to some cold water in the sink and soak it for a minute or two to harden it back up.

yeah i tried it and it didnt work, the hook and eye seem to be set off center from the bait. ill try it again though

Anyone have problems with the hooks dulling very quikly on the baby bass. What can you do to remedy? Seems like if I ge one hung up once on wood the point of the hook is ruined and I do nothing but miss or loose fish after that.

Matt figure out a weedless BB and Bluegill...PLEASE.

Nope.   :'(

All of my first, three lure package found new homes WAY before the hooks got dull. I caught 16 bass on one, eight on another and zero on the third (first cast). They now sleep with the fishes.

No, 3 pack Baby Bass special ($34).

Speaking of which, it seems most of my weeds get stuck between the tie point and nose of the Mattlures perch.  I know it probably wouldn't swim right, but if the tie point were on the nose of the bait I suspect it would come through grass much better...

There is an idea.

A weedgaurd like the one on a  jig would work on these lures also. Just maybe upsize the hook. We dont all fish in open water.
