I'll be fishing a tournament in this area the first week of August. Does anyone have any advice?

    I missed this post earlier.

     

    Its a stunning area not just to fish, but to visit. That time of year the water levels will probably be quite low and water temps will be warm. Focus on main channels with good current for smallmouth and areas with shade for largies.

     

    If the water levels are higher than usual, try some shallow backwater areas that haven’t been fished. Like WAY back in there if you can get your boat there.
