Powder paint tip

Featured Replies

Instead of my heat gun or myriad of torches, I tried a can of Sterno to heat my jigs. It works great, and a one dollar can burns (supposedly) for two hours.

I am making my first set of jigs as we speak (ned heads) and I used a heat gun in a vise. Worked well for me and they are currently curing in the toaster oven.

Yep, I've been doing that for years, just looking for alternatives.

Hey.  I hope it works for you.  I’ve been powder painting for over 20 years and have tried a lot of different techniques for heating.  For a while I even heated them in the toaster oven but could only paint a few before they cooled.  Right now my heat gun is doing fine.

I just started powder painting. I started with a heat gun, but found it tricky on timing when doing different sizes...so I decided to use the toaster oven. Only tried it once. Seems to do OK on small batch (10 or so jigs at a time). Did the oven cool down too much with repeated opening?

I count how long each jig is over the heat gun.  Different sizes require different times.
