For the money I could not beat it- let me know how different it is than a chronarch 51mg if any. I wanted the Chronarch model but for $175.00 I could not pass up the scorpion- I think they are the same just one is from Japan and the other a domestic model.

yep, im pretty sure they are the same except where they are made and name. i have seen these as well and have been wanting one, so i might have to sell my Quantum Accurist AC500PT to have some money for it. good deal, hopefully i can get one before they run out.

I was in the same boat as you a few weeks ago.  I really wanted a 50 MG just in case something went wrong with it would be a lot easier to deal with, but when I saw the price with free shipping, I had to pull the trigger.

I am glad I could help you guys find a good deal- I see that there is only one 1001mg left now- Ha Ha. "The_Natural" a member of this forum should get the credit thats how I found these reels. There are several right hand models still-

I can't wait til it comes in- I have a Curado 101d and love it this one will be a bit lighter.  I think I might  have a weird fettish with these small shimano's, that curado 101 was without a doubt my favorite new reel last summer.  Believe it or not- I have used 6lb flouro with the 101d- took some patience but I got it- a great finesse reel- can't wait for the scorpion 1001mg!

I already have one of the 1001MGs and when I saw that deal a couple weeks ago, I purchased another as well.  I also got 2 of the regular scorpion 1001s as well.  Should be here in the next day or so.  

Not a bad deal howver, Ginrin had them for 159.00 a few weeks back as well. Also regualr Scorps for 119.00

Volume discount, they purchase a big bunch, sell them cheap sacrificing the profit margin per unit in order to get a better profit by selling a lot, just to purchase a big bunch again.

They got rid of 45 Scorpion 1001 in less than 3 weeks.
