Tsuka 2 Handle

Featured Replies

I put together one of the American Tackle Tsuka 2 handles just to see what it's all about.

Positives: it looks great, it is very lightweight, easy to assemble once everything is dry-fitted, and it seems comfortable (not fished yet)

Unknowns are how comfortable it is in use and how it does when wet or slimy

Negatives: cost, size 16 so not universal, not through handle design so significant blank trimming needed to get desired length, and not directly compatible with winding checks or other butt caps.

Note that the butt cap is not glued in in the complete handle picture.

Looks a lot like the installation of the NFC XO Skeleton reel seat/grip combo. If that is the case, then smaller diameter blanks will go in full length into the unit. The other option is to simply buy a shorter blank that will make the length you desire when installed and go from there, many have done so.

I just received one myself for a crappie rig I plan on spinning up.  I have yet to build a rod, so I'm going to make my first rod a kit for my brother in law then when I feel like I have the hang of things I will put together the crappie rod.
