  1. Thanks for the tip! I just ordered the Kaden 713C since the majority of the fishing will be walleye.
  2. Shoot me a message on what you’ve got and price. Thanks
  3. I’ve been using a Dobyns Champ Extreme 703 for those exact applications. Caught my PB smallie just a couple days ago dragging a 1/4oz microjig with a baby dbomb trailer. Works great for lighter TRigs & weightless senkos as well. Nice rod
  4. Headed to Ontario in a couple of weeks for a black bear hunt but we will be doing a lot of fishing in the mornings. I believe the lakes we're fishing have mostly walleye & pike. I think the smallmouth are more south of where we are going to be which is a bummer. Anyways, I'm most likely going to be targeting walleye as pike don't interest me much. I'm bringing my Phenix Feather ML 2 piece rod but am looking to add another casting travel rod to the mix. Currently looking at the Dobyns Kaden 713C 3 piece... Are there other rods that I should be looking at? The Kaden is as much as I want to spend so around $200 and below is my budget right now.
  5. Zoom Ol Monster or 10" Berkley Power Worm have been good to me.
  6. Yes the tip is very alive on this rod
  7. I'm using an Orochi X10 Kirasame for that.. MEGABASS OROCHI X10 F2.1/2st-67XTMEGABASS OROCHI X10 F2.1/2st-67XT "KIRISAME bait finesse" is a special model that implements a long distance approach with bait finesse. Equipped with Megabass' unique solid tip with a spe
  8. Bumping this back up… What weight is everyone liking the most? I was thinking about going 1/4oz. All my jackhammers are 1/2oz but it seems the lighter weight ones are preferred for this bait?.. maybe Let me know
  9. I smashed them on Cedar Valley last year on your 1/4oz micro football jigs!.. That's why I just ordered another batch from ya ;)
  10. Keep picking up new techniques and be more proficient at them. This year I will focus on med sized swimbaits & drop shot. Also hoping to catch a 7+ largie or 5+ smallie.
  11. Right on, thanks! I've got a rod coming that I think would work great for something like this. Appreciate the response
  12. Clayton, What's your rod and reel setup here?
  13. Is the advantage more compact than the beast? I'm trying to figure out the big differences from the two.
  14. Little bomber crankbaits I picked up at walmart. Model 4F I believe.
  15. Ned rigs are my favorite on BFS, also tubes, kirashi, skitter pop, zara puppy & little crank baits
  16. That I don’t know as I’ve never fished brackish water
  17. I'm late on this, sorry about that... but I've only used it with 3/8 & 1/2oz spinnerbaits. For that I feel like it's worked great. I think it would work awesome for medium walking baits as well. At first it felt a little weird setting the hook because of the action but I was throwing a spinnerbait on a completely different action before that. I'm looking forward to really putting it to work here in the next couple of weeks. Did you get much time with yours? I'm interested on your experiences with it so far.
  18. I remember fishing with my uncle when I was about 14 and we were struggling. We pulled into a marina area and I was throwing one around the floating docks and I started hammering the smallmouth on about every cast. He looked to see what I was using and he tied on a craw color crank and caught a few but not as many as I was on the Rebel. I recently bought a few again to play around with this year.
  19. When I ordered back in September, the Rod came and I got billed for the tariffs after I received it... Kinda sucked lol
  20. I have both rods.. 1/4oz & 3/8 are great with the MH but with the 1/2oz jigs I reach for the H rod. No way would I throw a full size jig on the ML (I have that one too)
  21. I've got the BFS, Shallow Edition & 100 size. As FishTank stated they're all the same size reel. They are amazing little reels and are my favorites in my line up. The Shallow Edition I use on an Expride 7'2" ML/F rod and love it for shakey heads and smaller texas rigs. It's my favorite out of all of them but all three are amazing reels. Sends lures into orbit!
  22. It's my favorite BTL knot I use. Sometimes I don't nail it the first try (& I can't figure out why) and can be frustrating when trying to tie one fast on the boat but it works once you get it.
  23. I think if the Curado rods had cork grips, they would sell waaaay more. I have some EVA foam grip rods but I much prefer cork or carbon.
  24. The best packaging I’ve had for a shipped rod yet. PVC tubing cut to your rod length with bubble wrap around the rod. You should be just fine.
  25. Seriously, it left Japan on the 11th and was delivered on the 12th... hard to believe I know! Went from Japan to Anchorage, then to Louisville, then to Kansas City, then to Emporia then Delivered.
