  1. Anybody here fishing the big bass bash this weekend? My sister has a place on grand and I had already made plans to go up there this weekend and fish anyway. I just may do it.
  2. Nice! There's so many walleye in that lake it's crazy. 95% of them are between 10-17" though lol! Good for the near future though I guess Yeah, cool boat though. It was the first time this year my feet saw the sun. I forgot the sunscreen at home and they're paying for it now lol!
  3. The wife got me a GoPro for my birthday so I did my first recording. It's my first one so be easy on me I really enjoy watching others fishing the lakes around the area so I figured I'd try to contribute. Spent the morning and afternoon at Melvern on Memorial day. Fun day... a lot of small fish and ended up finishing the day livescoping a bunch of crappie (not in the video). Even sent a shout out to @Bluebasser86 at the 18:50 mark lol
  4. @Bluebasser86 for sure, I think on small lakes like that they should do length with pictures instead of weigh-ins... just makes sense. Oh, and tournament mentality was in full effect 🙄
  5. Yeah the last lake I fished, had a tournament going on (not a big lake) and I made the mistake of wanting to leave right as the tournament finished. I let everyone load up their boats and waited to get out after everyone else did. The way those guys treated their fish after weigh in was disturbing. The water was high so none of them wanted to get their feet too close to the water so most were throwing the fish in cannon ball style or the older guys were basically dumping them on the shore and kicking them in because they didn't want to bend over. Wish I knew what club it was but I didn't catch it.
  6. I have tried 8 10 and 15 and they all have work just fine
  7. Right on, thanks. I think I'm going to check out Wilson county lake. It's just 40 min south of me and I've driven by it a million times and never gave it a shot.
  8. Thanks Fellas! Does Crystal have a boat restriction? I've just got a Tracker 175
  9. Is there a lake around that fishes a jig really well? I need to gain some confidence in my jig fishing.
  10. I have no clue what the diameter is but I have Suffix 832 8# on all my BFS setups and have never had an issue.
  11. Another good day on the water but it didn’t start out like it was going to be. Caught an 18.75” within the first 20 minutes then proceeded to go about an hour and a half before my next. It started raining and they turned on! The harder it rained the better the fishing was. My best of the year, 21.25” hit my jackhammer right at the boat. Forgot my scale at home though. I did have a really good one that when I set the hook I thought my knot failed but when I reeled my line in the jackhammer snap broke in 2 😲. Saw him jump and throw my bait. Really wish I didn’t lose that one! Wet and cold when I got back to the truck but was well worth it. Almost every fish came on the jackhammer. A handful on the Ned and a good one on a black and blue jig.
  12. I’ve got 3 Curado BFS/Phenix Feather combos and love them. They’re just not for fun, they’re part of my bass combo rotation and use them every time I’m out on the water.
  13. Yes sir! That bass with the bottom of her tail half gone was literally bleeding in my boat.
  14. I just received one myself for a crappie rig I plan on spinning up. I have yet to build a rod, so I'm going to make my first rod a kit for my brother in law then when I feel like I have the hang of things I will put together the crappie rod.
  15. Big fan of the Phenix Feather L & ML models. The L is probably my most used rod in my line up as it’s my ned rig rod.
  16. Congrats Clayton! Always putting fish in the boat/kayak!

  19. When I was a little kid to about Senior in highschool I was obsessed with fishing. My uncle would take me to small local bass tournaments and I loved it. We had a pond in our backyard also and I lived out there. Soon after my hunting obsession took over and there were plenty of years where I fished very little. Fast forward to about 3 years ago and I started taking my daughter out to catch bluegills and channel cat. We had a couple great days fishing from the bank and all the sudden the fire started getting lit again. Just a couple months later I bought a used bass boat and jumped in head first. It's been a lot of fun accumulating new gear and learning new techniques. It's a whole other challenge that I enjoy. My hunting obsession is still there so I usually quit fishing sometime in October and start focusing on hunting until about March when I'm done chasing coyotes. My wife rolls her eyes now because my hobbies now go 365 days out of the gear haha
  20. I don't have any experience but I've heard good things on the Team Ark J110SP. $9.99 on tackle warehouse
  21. I have the expride 7'2" Medium/F. Bought it in late summer early fall (along with a 7'2" MH/F) and fished with it a handful of times. I use it for weightless senkos, lighter to medium texas rings (mostly worms) & 3/8-1/2oz spinnerbaits. So far I really like it. It should get a good workout this year.
