Dobyns spinnerbait review

Dobyns Beast is the best spinnerbait on the market and I have been through literally hundreds of different brands and styles.

I've fished the Beast. Thought the hook was a bit too long so it didn't swim perfectly parallel (goes through the water with a tilt). I also prefer a double willow, which it isn't offered in. Other than that I thought it was pretty solid. Seems like it would fish better with a trailer, and it does have a pretty solid bait keeper which is nice.

Thanks! What about is is better ?

Glad to hear some folks have fished these and had success. I grabbed several at Ollie’s…they were only $4 and I love a spinnerbait so I couldn’t pass them up

100% is. I have probably 30 of them.

That is a tuning issue, not a hook issue. All of mine run straight and true.

Simply put, they flat out last everything else. Super heavy wire and hook. Awesome head that cuts through weeds as well. A lot of color and blade configurations.

A lot of spinnerbaits catch fish. But very rarely are any of them built in a manner that will last awhile. The Beast is just as the name describes.

Another great option for consideration is the Megbass SV-3. It is a smaller profile...much more compact...but almost just as stout.

The SV-3 is my go-to. Also where are you getting the double willow ones, I looked on their website they only showed the combo blade.

Edit* Nvm I see them now

I do appreciate the heavy wire they do seem super durable. And the head design is definitely good for grass.

Is the advantage more compact than the beast? I'm trying to figure out the big differences from the two.

Ollie's by my house has Dobyns spinnerbaits for like $4.

Those Dobyns jigs are the best deal going. 3@ $10 for hand tied rubber/silicone hybrid football jigs with a 604 and one of the most effective keepers around is a steal. If the spinnerbaits are half as good as the jigs, I need to grab a few.

Bought three, won't buy anymore.

Like someone else mentioned, d**n things go through the water like they haven't had their V8 yet.
