Florida Jerkbait Setup

Featured Replies

Hey y’all.
I wanted to ask what rod, reel, line, and specific brand and model jerkbait everyone is using to rip through grass. I’m in Tallahassee but I’ve got a trip coming up to Orlando and I would like to try ripping jerkbaits through hydrilla. Just wanted to get a primer on what kind of setup might be good. I’ve heard from most that mega bass has the best jerkbaits, I’m sure that’s somewhat subjective. I’ve used the KVD ones before but really have never been a jerk bait aficionado. From what I hear the technique is deadly down here as a search bait and for fishing this grass we have with some efficiency. Thanks!

30 lb braid direct to a heavier EWG direct to a full size caffeine shad. 🤣😎👍🏼

Hey y’all.

it’d be with two baits specifically: the XZone whiplash shad (love this bait) and a MB 110 and 110 jr. hard jerk bait.
