Gwinnett County Georgia

Featured Replies

Hey everyone! Anyone have any recommendations for public lakes in Gwinnett County Georgia? Fairly new to the area and looking for good spots. I have tried Tribble Mill, Briscoe, and Lenora park

Bank or boat?

Lake Lanier is great for spotted bass if you don't mind the boat traffic. Hartwell, Allatoona, and West Point Lake aren't that far away as well.

I am from the bank. Nowhere to store a kayak right now haha. I fished West Point some as a kid my grandad had a trailer on it. It was a fun place!

I live near Stone Mountain but I was told you cannot fish from the bank. I suppose that was wrong haha!

That could be a new rule that I’m not aware of. I’ll check with a friend that lives right outside the gate and report back.

He said bank fishing is allowed.

Fishing from bridges, park docks golf course banks, and Evergreen pavilion is prohibited

Awesome thanks so much! I will try this weekend maybe if the weather allows!

There are plenty of old trails left on that lake that my friends and I  blazed as youngsters back in the sixties.

i still take my boat over there a couple times a year, mainly in Spring.10 hp motor maximum restriction. I remove my prop and use trolling motor only and that’s allowed .I caught a couple 5’s and 4’s in there this past Spring but the cormorants have done some damage be advised. Good luck

Thanks for the tip. I am planning to work a texas rig around there that is usually my go to "learn a new lake" lure. Hopefully the thunderstorms hold off!
