Jake w.
I'm wondering if anyone has any recommendations for good fly rod blanks under $80. I'm pretty new too both rod building and fly fishing so I don't want to spend too much but I would like the best quality for my money. Thanks
Solution MikeK Posted August 12 Solution Share Posted August 12 Look at Get Bit Rainshadow Fly Blanks the UNIF models towards the bottom of the list, or Mud Hole CRB color series.
spoonplugger1
If you mean unlimited, all variety blank selection, in all configurations, good luck with that. Otherwise, if you are just looking for a one off for yourself and you know what you need, maybe we can help.

spoonplugger1
Angler's Workshop has the Pac Bay Arctos 935-4 - NAT if you can live with a 3 inch longer blank, they have 3 it looks like. Traditions II 9 ft. blank if you can't, same price, MF instead of fast action, made with a lesser carbon. I have fished both, personally I prefer the Arctos, it is an easy to get along with blank. The Traditions II is virtually the same feel and performance of the Batson Revelation blanks.
Super User WRB Posted August 13 Super User Share Posted August 13 FYI Off topic I have a fly rod, reel w/line in the Flea Market. Suggesting you learn to use a fly rod before wasting money on a custom build fly rod. Tom
spoonplugger1
Just some information, the Batson Revelations I mentioned being like the Traditions II, they retail for $167.76.
