I know if a few bass clubs. But sadly I can't afford, or own a boat. I almost bought a kayak, but I lack space. How does one become a coangler? I offered on a Facebook post that I'd pay both the entry and the side pot for me and the boat owner. Nobody had taken me up on it.

I think most are team events, are they not?  Many of them are here in MN.  Know anyone with a boat?  Team up with that person and join a league or a club.  I don't know exactly where you are in Wisconsin, but western Wisconsin has one called Greenhorn and they fish about 4 or 5 lakes in the western portion of the state.

Otherwise you'd have to find a specific event format that's like a pro-am which is a pro's boat and a co-angler in the back (which would be you).  Those could be more difficult to find and if you get stuck in the back while the pro is livescoping the whole day, you won't catch a thing.

Kayak might be the better route in terms of affordability.  There's kayak tournaments too.

Post in the location forums for your state specifically asking about being a co angler. I recently moved to Maryland and I found a club in a couple days. Fished four events since August and have had a blast. Ask around any local tackle shops, those guys know everything about local derby’s.
