Drop shot using braid with no leader?

Surely on "the web's oldest, largest and most popular bass fishing site" there must a few anglers that have tried fishing a drop shot rig using strait braid with no monofilament leader.  Tell me how successful it was for you.

I’ve never tried straight braid or a monofilament leader 😀.

I do it all the time using a bubba shot rig.

I never use a mono or fc leader for any technique. I don’t fish a drop shot a lot but I spent a week in the fall using one every day. I’ve never had a circumstance where I had an issue that would have been better if I’d been using a leader.

If you can chuck a jig in there @OkobojiEagle, you can throw a drop shot and be just as effective targeting specific pieces of cover.

I have only ever used braid to fluoro…never straight braid or braid to mono.  I also for some reason have never tried a bubba shot…not sure why as I’ve tried most everything else.  @J Francho has given me my next experiment.

I can't remember who it was, but I got the tip here. On the tag end, slide a 1 oz bullet on the point down and tie a small split ring to stop it. That will pull your bait down through the cover. I don't don't usually cast much farther than a pitch cast. Maybe 30' tops.

The type of cover (tules) I was saying the technique is very suited for @OkobojiEagle. When it comes to the braid, the surprising thing is the fish aren’t line shy.
