i may sound a little unproffesional here but most of the rods in my boat are 33 classics and 733 hawgs

i do have some baitcasters but i am alot more acurate with the other reels is there a real problem with fishing with these reels instead of the baitcasters if so let me know please.

Only thing i can think of is the drag and how the line is picked up i too have a few classics i use for beatin around the bush the spools on these reels are not all that good really small and they make your line go at a sharp angle to the line pick up

what is wrong with the drag on those reels i like all of my drags because i can hear them when it is stripping so i know its working and i cant hear it on my baitcaster.

 They aren't as smooth and tend to sometimes "catch". IMO it would be worth your time and money to learn a BC or Spinning set-up. After saying that, I will say that I used 33's for a number of years and really enjoyed the fishing. A lot of folks could probably say the same thing...

oh i can use baitcasters i just like the reels that i grew up on and enjoy getting to fight the fish sure u may lose some but to me its just more fun

if you like them  , then why ask ?

Evidently they work.  They got you to the status of "legend" by age 15!!  ;D

Seriously though, the combos we give the kids at CAST events have 33's on them.  This yr a 7 yr old boy in a wheelchair caught an 8,2 lbr on it.   I'll try and find the pic.

Now, I'm not saying I would risk an 8 lb fish on a push button reel but,......it can be done.

The more you fish, the need for better gear will come.  Use what you are comfortable with till you are ready to spend a little money on the next level.

I have no problem w/ either of those setups, as long as they have big plastic red and white bobbers above a gob of red wigglers.

great fish man that is awesome for a kid that age wow what a fish well those 33s are tough man i gottta tell ya i usually dont use the rods that the combos come on i use those when i go bottom fishing or throwin beetlespins for speckled perch and redbreast but me and my dad went fishing in ocala with my uncle and we were catching some nice redfish with those 33s so i have to give them props.
