Giant Glidebaits/SwimBaits

Featured Replies

I am seeing a lot of content around massive swimbaits (6-8oz) and people have talked about LDC XXH rods for that. Anyone have thoughts on the LDC rods and what companies do you guys recommend that area making quality giant swimbaits for me to try out?

LDC is a great company

LDC is a great rod if it fits your budget. An iRod Gen III IRG865 is a great big bait rod (12 oz) for $169.00

If I threw a 10 oz bait I think it would give all the fish I normally catch a heart attack.

First off, pick out the baits you want to throw. A large bait doesn't have to be heavy - some of the best baits I throw that are around 10" fall in the 4-5 oz range.

LDC are great rods but there are a lot of other good ones on the market too. Leviathan, F5, Daiwa and IRod make some great models for swimbaits.

I throw quite a few swimbaits...
