Manatee County spots

Featured Replies

Fairly new to the Manatee County area, anyone wanna share a few spots to do some good fishing that isn't the skyway. Don't mind paying the tolls to get to st Pete but the skyway is always packed.

We used to have a place in Palmetto and I fished all winter there usually in or off the Manatee River when the wind wasn't too bad.  IMO you need a boat or kayak if you want to catch fish consistantly.  Terra Ceia is a good place to fish as is way up the Manatee River.  Discount Tackle in Bradenton is a good place to get up to date information.

Do you fish from a boat or kayak? I am a shore fisherman from Ruskin. I have several private ponds in my community that I am looking for someone to fish with. I also know of a pond in the area that holds Tarpon. E-mail me if interested.
